District 201Q3, Queensland, Australia

Community Service is a major part of the Lions Club.  We do our best to assist members of the community with 'one off' assistance as required. We have an 'Easter Wish' and 'Spring Wish' campaign where local residents can ask the Lions Club members to assist them with small maintenance jobs.  If you know someone who we can help please send us an email.

Our main income comes from our Minature Steam Railway which runs on the 4th Sunday of each month at McPherson Park, Denham Street, Bracken Ridge 9.30am - 2.30pm.

Lions Camp Duckadang located approx. 2 hours west of Brisbane relies on the members of Lions Clubs to carry out the maintenance and care of the camp.  Our club has taken an active role in enhancing the site.  Wehave been involved with adding an Observery, Putt-Putt Course, Playground Equipment, painting, plumbing, cleaning, etc.

We also have a lot of fun at Duckadang.  When there is work to be done we usually go up for the weekend, work during the day and have fun at night.  The camp is on the edge of the Brisbane River, a great place to go canoeing, we swim in the pool and enjoy a great bbq with friends.

Every January, in conjunction with Australia Day and the Brisbane City Council, we welcome new Australians into our Community through our Citizenship Ceremony.

2016 Ceremony saw more than 60 citizens from 19 different nationalities become Australians.  The ceremony saw Club Treasurer Neil O'Sullivan  as Master of Ceremonies with  Cr Amanda Cooper presenting the certificates.

Club President Peter Guy and Cr Cooper also presented local  community Awards .
